Over David

I am David, a postdoc in the Lohmann lab, where I investigate how acetylcholine shapes neuronal network dynamics in the developing visual cortex of mice before eye-opening. For this research, I primarily use in vivo approaches to image the neuronal spontaneous activity and acetylcholine dynamics in the visual cortex using genetically encoded sensors. In this cool project, I aim to understand the interplay between behavioral states during development and how acetylcholine, a neuromodulator linked to arousal and attention, modulates neuronal activity in a sensory cortical area before it receives sensory inputs. Besides this current project, my other interests in neuroscience include patch-clamp electrophysiology, ion channels, and cortical interneurons.
