The career of Alzheimer researcher Evgenia Salta began in Greece, where she studied pharmaceutical sciences and obtained her PhD. She subsequently left for the VIB-KU Leuven Center for Brain & Disease Research in Belgium. There, she conducted groundbreaking molecular research into the disrupted neurogenic process in Alzheimer’s mouse models. She joined the Netherlands Institute for Neuroscience in 2020. “I strongly believe that ‘if you are the smartest person in the room, you’re in the wrong room’.
