Over Anouk

Project Description: My research interests lie in the interplay between brain development and affective empathy, with a specific emphasis on embodied emotions and antisocial behavior. Some children encounter significant adversities early in life, making them more vulnerable to engaging in antisocial behaviors. However, many demonstrate resilience and find a path toward adaptive development. By combining neuroimaging data (fMRI) with behavioral and environmental data, our goal is to understand the factors driving this resilience and, in particular, how empathy relates to these developmental trajectories.

Grant information: My PhD is conducted within the framework of the GUTS consortium, which includes researchers Valeria Gazzola and Christian Keysers. The project is funded by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture, and Science (OCW) as part of the Gravitation research program.
