Originally from Italy, I pursued my academic journey in Austria, earning a BSc in Biology and an MSc in Molecular and Developmental Cell Biology at the University of Innsbruck, with a specialization in neuroscience and stem cell biology. For my master’s thesis, I joined the lab of Univ.-Prof. Dr. Frank Edenhofer, where I investigated the cellular mechanisms underlying brain aging and neurodegeneration using 2D and 3D neural models derived from induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs).
Currently, I am an Erasmus+ postgraduate fellow in the Salta group, where I focus on characterizing iPSC-derived microglia in Alzheimer’s disease-relevant contexts. When I’m not in the lab, I’m probably cycling around Amsterdam, planning spontaneous weekend trips across Europe, or searching for the city’s best pizza (still a work in progress).
